The Justice System Reform Referendum. The reasons for Yes and No: a debate to get informed and discuss

On 22 and 23 March 2026, Italian citizens will be called to approve or reject the constitutional reform of the judicial system introduced by the Meloni government, through a confirmatory referendum that does not require a minimum voter turnout.

Information about the confirmatory referendum, its contents, and voting procedures is available at this link.

To promote informed participation in this fundamental moment of Italy’s democratic life, our University has organized a debate on Thursday, 5 March 2026 at 5:30 PM in Emma Strada Hall, featuring supporters and opponents of the reform, represented by distinguished figures from the legal and political fields. The debate will open with an overview of the justice system in Italy, prepared by a group of engineering students, and will be followed by an audience Q&A session.

Speakers:
  • Chiara Canepa, Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of Turin
  • Emilio Gatti, Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of Turin
  • Donatella Masia, former Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Courts of Turin, Alba, and Asti
  • Enrico Morando, President of Libertà Eguale

Moderator:
Stefano Sacchi, Vice Rector for Society and Public Engagement, Community, and Rector's Program Implementation

The event will be livestreamed at this link.
