DIST - Urban Development Strategies from Heritage to CCIs: Opportunities, Limitations and Alternative Models
The roundtable is organised by the Urban Theory Workshop (UTW) collective, is a platform committed to engaging with issues in the fields of critical urban studies and political ecology. It consists of a network of post-graduate and PhD students.
The roundtable is supported by PhD URD.
This roundtable critically examines the underlying assumptions that the notion of heritage and creativity are universally beneficial or that they inherently foster inclusivity. Moreover, the session will explore alternative models and conceptualisation frameworks that stress social goals and underscore preserving local traditions in contrast with governments’ expectations and economic imperatives.
