From documents to chatbot: building a scalable Knowledge Base for RAG

Seminar From documents to chatbot: building a scalable Knowledge Base for RAG.
Second date of the series of seminars organized by the Data Management and Visualization course of the Master’s Degree in Data Science and Engineering, with participation of guest lectures featuring industrial experts from Coolshop, Data Reply, and Storm Reply.
These sessions are meant to offer a technical deep dive into modern data architectures for Generative AI, such as Polyglot Persistence, Event Sourcing, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) using NoSQL technologies.
PhD students, researchers, and practitioners interested in these topics are welcome to attend.

When: Monday 15 December 2025 at 2,30 pm
Where: Aula 2P, Politecnico di Torino

Abstract: Examining a major automotive use case, this seminar details the construction of an AI-based decision support system. The talk explores the transition from unstructured documents to a real-time Knowledge Base using a Polyglot Persistence architecture. Key topics include:
- Document Modeling & Versioning in unstructured data;
- Distributed Systems replication strategies;
- Semantic Search using embeddings for RAG.
