Biography

Khaled S. S. Alamin, a Ph.D. researcher at Politecnico di Torino, is advancing the future of battery technology by pioneering machine learning and digital twin frameworks. His core research enhances State of Charge (SOC), State of Energy (SOE), and State of Health (SOH) estimation for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. By building sophisticated data-driven models and feature engineering, and extending these with federated learning, his work safeguards data privacy and optimizes communication across distributed systems. This approach empowers EVs to autonomously predict SOC and SOE, adapting seamlessly to each battery’s unique health status through cloud-based retraining. The result is longer battery lifespans and a leap in EV efficiency, contributing to a more sustainable, advanced future in mobility.
Beyond battery technology, his expertise extends to predictive maintenance across industries. He has developed deep learning models for semiconductor manufacturing and collaborated with industrial partners on elevator data analysis using vibration sensors, incorporating anomaly detection techniques such as autoencoders.
