Biography

Sara Mohamed holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Materials Science and Technology, and is currently a Research Fellow at the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) at Politecnico di Torino, within the Supercritical Fluids and Materials Chemistry (SMAC) research group. Her research activity focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of silica-based porous materials for applications in drug delivery and hemostasis. She is engaged in the development of advanced biomaterials with tailored structural and functional properties aimed at improving therapeutic efficacy and controlling bleeding. Her expertise includes materials synthesis, physicochemical characterization techniques, drug release studies, and the evaluation of hemocompatibility and coagulation processes.
