To this purpose, during my research, I wrote numerical simulation codes for transitional and fully developed flows in collaboration with the Power and Flow group at the Technical university of Eindhoven.
Using data from these simulations, I explored the mixing of tracers in channel flow, the properties of transitional boundary layers, the mixing and clustering of inertial tracers and the shape evolution of multiparticle structures in transitional flows. Also, new methods of analysis based on the theory of complex networks were developed and employed to provide further insight into turbulence dynamics.
