Biography

I graduated in B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, with an environmental final project (Numerical modelling of flows in riparian zones), then I finished my M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, focused on Land Protection. I wrote my M.Sc. final project (Quality control of D&B tunnelling profile with scanning systems) at ETSI Minas y Energía (UPM) in Madrid, working with the Explosives & Blasting Lab research group. I kept working in the mining field with the same group until I moved back to Turin. Here, I joined the group of Prof. Boano in SuperGreen project to study green wall systems for wastewater treatment.
I am now studying the enzymatic activity of the bacterial community during the wastewater treatment process in nature-based solutions. I am using an innovative imaging technique with fluorescent tracers to better understand the relation between bacteria communities and plant roots, in order to improve the design and efficiency of treatment.
