Pierre Hebbelinck

LECTURE / Pierre Hebbelinck. The silent conflict. Actors and processes in heritage projects

The lecture will be held on Friday 10 May 2024 at 2.30 p.m. at the Castello del Valentino (room 4V).
The lecture proposes a reflection on architecture and the political and administrative management of memory through heritage authorities in Europe and Latin America, through specific project from Atelier Hebbelinck. Conflicts have been a constant for four decades, but not always for the same reasons. We will outline a behavior mapping, to propose an expanded conception of heritage incorporating history and memory.

challenge_polito_demolition

Challenge@PoliTO / Demolition yards. Post-disaster recovery, reuse, reconstruction

This ‘post-disaster landscape’ constitutes a constant design challenge at several scales. ArchLivIng launches an interdisciplinary design challenge aimed to develop a cutting-edge process of intervention in places affected by natural or man-made disaster, through a selective deconstruction with the aim of reusing the original materials oriented for the environmental and landscape rehabilitation of a historic village.
