Sound Threads - Fabrics of Stories from Around the World

The Coro PoliEtnico of the Politecnico di Torino and the Sedicetto will present the concert Sound Threads - Fabrics of Stories from Around the World at the Concert Hall of the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of Turin on Saturday, 23 May 2026 at 8:30 pm.

The Coro PoliEtnico will perform a selection of pieces by various composers, including W. Dawson, C. Jochimsen, J. Elberdin, L. Bernstein, V. Savona and C.M. Schönberg, recounting through music stories from different parts of the world.
The Sedicetto, chamber choir of the Coro PoliEtnico, will instead perform Five Days that Changed the World by Bob Chilcott, a work retracing five events that changed the world: the invention of printing, the abolition of slavery, the first powered flight, the discovery of penicillin and the first man in space.

The Coro PoliEtnico of the Politecnico di Torino is a project founded in 2014 within the Department of Mathematical Sciences-DISMA and carried forward each year through the enthusiasm of students, faculty members, researchers and staff of the University. PoliEtnico owes its name to the international background of its members and to the musical repertoire it performs. Since 2024, the choir has collaborated with the Conservatory of Turin and has been directed by Maestro Giuseppe Crea.

The Sedicetto is composed of choir members eager to challenge themselves with musically more complex pieces and is directed by Maestro Matteo Gentile.
