Call for Papers | International Workshop Translational XR Applications for HEAlthcare, Rehabilitation and Therapy (XR-HEART 2026)
The call for papers for the 1st International Workshop on Translational XR Applications for Healthcare, Rehabilitation and Therapy (XR-HEART 2026) focuses on the application of extended reality (XR) technologies in the fields of healthcare, rehabilitation, and therapy.
The workshop will take place within the IEEE Smart World Congress 2026 (SWC 2026), scheduled from 7 to 11 September 2026 in Rende (Italy), and is co-organized by Federico Manuri from the Department of Control and Computer Engineering (DAUIN) at Politecnico di Torino.
The initiative aims to collect research contributions on XR applications in clinical and therapeutic contexts, with particular attention to topics such as mental health, neurorehabilitation, training of healthcare professionals, remote healthcare delivery, and the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and the Internet of Things.
The call is addressed to researchers and professionals interested in submitting scientific contributions on methodologies, applications, and case studies related to the use of XR in healthcare.
Submission deadline: 1 May 2026.
