PoliTO Cinema | Four Daughters
Politecnico di Torino returns with PoliTo Cinema series, which on the first Thursday of every month open the doors of the Aula Magna to the entire community and public. An opportunity to engage with film screenings dedicated to scientific and social themes.
The next event will take place on Thursday, 5 March, at 8:30 p.m. in the Aula Magna Lingotto, Via Nizza 230, where the film Four Daughters by Kaouther Ben Hania (2023) will be screened.
Four Daughters by Kaouther Ben Hania tells the story of Olfa Hamrouni and her four daughters, beginning with a narrative that evokes the form of a fairy tale, only to reveal a deeply contemporary reality. Through an original blend of documentary and fiction, the protagonists reenact their past, giving voice to experiences marked by sexism, radicalization, physical and psychological violence, and collective responsibilities. The film uses cinematic language as a space for reflection and dialogue, encouraging critical thought on women’s rights, individual freedom, the intergenerational transmission of violence, and the role of society and institutions in prevention.
The screening will be preceded by a debate moderated by Alessandra Colombelli, President of the Single Guarantee Committee, with:
