Exploration of Iron Ore Deposit: from the beginning to environmental and mining licensing
The seminar titled “Exploration of Iron Ore Deposits: from the Beginning to Environmental and Mining Licensing” will be held on 9 December 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Meeting Room, 1st floor, of DIATI.
The seminar will be delivered by Pedro Casagrande.
Pedro Casagrande is a rsearcher at the Rock Mechanics Laboratory and the Geometallurgical Laboratory. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology (UFMG), a Master’s degree in Environmental Analysis (UFMG), and a Ph.D. in Geology (UFMG), with extensive expertise in Geological Modelling, Remote Sensing, Mineral Exploration, Geometallurgy, Rock Mechanics, and Mineral Characterisation. Throughout his career, he has been the technical lead for more than 150 geological and mineral exploration projects, and has led projects funded by CNPq, CAPES, Vale S.A., Lundin Mining, Anglo American, AngloGold Ashanti, Nexa, MRV, Vallourec, Bafer, Guaribas, Fermavi, OZ Minerals, MG Lithium, and several other companies.
Author of 12 book chapters and more than 30 scientific papers published in national and international venues, and has participated in the supervision of master’s and doctoral research.
