Just the Woman I Am 2026

As every year, JUST THE WOMAN I AM (in short, JTWIA) returns, a staple event in Turin since 2014, held in conjunction with International Women’s Day. The 5 km run/walk is open to everyone and supports university cancer research while promoting prevention, healthy lifestyles, inclusion, and gender equality. Organised by the Turin University Sports Centre, Politecnico di Torino will once again stand alongside the University of Turin for the thirteenth edition.

The 2026 edition of JTWIA will take place in Turin from 6 to 8 March, offering three days entirely dedicated to well-being, prevention, and solidarity. As every year, the heart of the event will be the Prevention Village, set up in Piazza Castello from Friday to Sunday. Here, participants will have access to free medical screenings, counseling services, and information activities promoted by non-profit associations.
The renowned 5 km run/walk will return on Sunday, 8 March, starting from Parco del Valentino. This is now a well-established event, open to everyone and capable of engaging thousands of participants each year — not only from Italy but from abroad as well - turning sport into a powerful tool of participation and awareness-raising. Vice-Rector Elena Maria Baralis will deliver the institutional greetings.

For the 2026 edition, the Padiglione Incontri is being renewed and transformed into a space for dialogue, structured around round-table discussions under the dome in Piazza Castello, designed to foster interaction between doctors, researchers, institutions and the public.
Three days dedicated to 360-degree prevention, the promotion of wellbeing and healthy lifestyles, with in-depth discussions on the most topical issues in public health.

All events taking place at the Padiglione Incontri are available on the dedicated webpage; below are the contributions from Politecnico that will be held at the Padiglione Incontri:
6 MARCH 2026

JTWIA 2026 is not only a route to run and walk together; it is also a Prevention and Health Village, set up in Piazza Castello and Piazzetta Reale. The Village will be inaugurated on Friday 6 March 2026 and will feature the participation of Stefano Sacchi, Vice-Rector for Society, the Community and Programme Implementation.
Over the three days of the event, it will offer the public preventive health checks, consultations, conferences and educational webinars. It is both a physical and digital space providing free promotional opportunities for non-profit organisations, as well as an opportunity for meeting, dialogue and celebration, bringing together the academic community, Italian healthcare excellence, the city and schools.
Within the Prevention Village, Politecnico will be present with a dedicated area for university sport and several research stands, where academic staff, researchers and student teams will showcase projects and technologies developed at the University.

All events taking place at the stands are available on the dedicated webpage; below are the projects that visitors will be able to explore at the Politecnico di Torino stands (nos. 38 and 39) in Piazzetta Reale.
