Summer School for Metrology | Course "Future needs for metrology: climate science, quantum technologies and the digital transformation"

From 9 to 18 July 2025, at Villa Monastero in Varenna, on lake Como, will be held the new edition of the Summer School for Metrology, one of the summer courses of the International School of Physics "Enrico Fermi", entitled "Future needs for metrology: climate science, quantum technologies and the digital transformation".

Organized by the Italian Physical Society (SIF) in collaboration with the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRiM), the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM), the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and the Centro Español de Metrología (CEM), the course consists of three modules:
  • Metrology for the Quality of Life and Climate Science
  • Fundamentals of Metrology and the Digital Transformation of Measurement
  • Physical and Quantum Metrology

Students are invited to present a poster on their research and study activities.

A volume of the Course Proceedings of the “Enrico Fermi” International School of Physics will be published jointly by the Italian Physics Society and Springer. It will appear in the book series "Springer Proceedings in Physics"; and will contain all the lessons held during the school.

The deadline to submit your application is April 24, 2025.
