DiWine Path Summer School 2026
We are pleased to share the call for applications for the International Summer School “DiWine Path. Cultivating climate resilience and rediscovering vineyard heritage in a historic mountain territory using innovative strategies and technologies”, promoted by the Politecnico di Torino.
The Summer school investigates how climate change is reshaping agricultural production and driving the transformation of mountain areas into new contexts for viticultural experimentation and rural regeneration. Through an integrated, interdisciplinary, and multiscale approach, it explores strategies to enhance and recover fragile historic viticultural landscapes and rural heritage in the Valle Maira (Piedmont, Italy). It combines field-based activities with innovative technologies, including 3D surveying, mapping methods, and slope stability analysis, thereby supporting integrated approaches to territorial planning and agricultural land management.
It is addressed to Master’s and PhD students from Italian and international Universities and will host a maximum of 15 participants. Participants will involved on the design of a project for a hiking trail that symbolically connects the historical features of the wine landscape with its contemporary and future uses.
The Summer School will take place in Elva and Lottulo (Valle Maira, Piedmont, Italy).
It will be structured in online works and on site works, as follow:
Participation is free of charge and includes accommodation, meals, and local transfers (travel to/from Cuneo not included).
3 ECTS will be awarded.
Applications are open until 30 June 2026
