Biography

Lorenzo Andrenacci was born in Giulianova (TE), Italy, in 1998. He received his B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering (2020) and M.Sc. degree in Communications and Computer Networks Engineering (2022) from Politecnico di Torino, both cum laude.
As of November, 2022, he is a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering (EECE) at Politecnico di Torino, under the supervision of Prof. Gabriella Bosco and Prof. Roberto Gaudino. His current research interests include the developement of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques in the scenario of coherent optical communications and in the field of Optical Performance Monitoring (OPM). Particular attention is given to "distributed" OPM, whose objective is that of getting estimates of longitudinal system parameters, e.g., power or attenuation profiles. Such techniques also enable the localization of possible anomalies over the optical link, e.g., excess loss and polarization-dependent loss (PDL).
