The Master Programme is organized in two parallel tracks that have the same objectives and structure. They do not differ in the type of specialization, but in the location and institutions where they take place:
INTERNATIONAL TRACK. Based partly in Italy and partly in France:
- semester 1: at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) and the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste;
- semester 2: at the Polytechnic University of Turin;
- semester 3: in Paris, at a consortium between Sorbonne Université, Université Paris-Cité and Université Paris-Saclay;
- semester 4: Spring College (in Trieste) + Master Thesis (18 credits)
Admission to the international track will be on a competitive basis and only a limited number of grants (about 20) will be available to support the mobility of selected students. All courses are taught in English. At the end of the program you will obtain a double degree (Italian Master's Degree at the Polytechnic of Turin & French M2 at one of the universities in Paris).
NATIONAL TRACK. Entirely based at the Polytechnic University of Turin, with no limitations on the number of students admitted. The second semester is in common with the international path. The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master's Thesis, of 30 credits. All compulsory courses are held in English. Among the elective courses, it is always possible to opt for those in English, in order to carry out the entire course of study in English. Students obtain a Master's Degree at the Polytechnic of Turin.
Graduates in Physics of Complex Systems (both of the International and National paths) can obtain the Master's Degree in 'Nanotechnologies for ICT' at the Polytechnic of Turin through a limited number of supplementary exams
