Abstract
Advances in high fidelity control of electrons provide a fundamental resource for a vast number of facets in quantum technologies and could enable most demanding applications in electrical current metrology. Single-electron pumping, supplemented by combining Josephson and quantum Hall effect, provides a wide range direct link to the SI. To fully unleash the potential of single charge control for quantum metrology and technology, this project will investigate advanced methods to close the impeding nA-gap in direct quantum current generation, examine the fundamental uncertainties of single-electron pumps, and explore novel device concepts exploiting technological advances driven by solid state quantum technology research.
