Biography

Edoardo Patti has been with the Department of Control and Computer Engineering (DAUIN) at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, since 2011, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor (since 2022). In 2014–2015, he was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Manchester (UK). His research interests focus on software architectures for distributed systems, with a particular emphasis on the Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twin technologies, Smart Cities, and Smart Grids. His work also explores the digital modeling and management of energy infrastructures, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to integrated multi-energy systems, and the development of socially fair and ethical AI methodologies. Prof. Patti serves as scientific coordinator for different national and international research projects and has authored or co-authored over 180 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. His contributions span topics such as digital-twin design and co-simulation, energy forecasting and optimization, and IoT platforms for sustainable urban and industrial applications. With a multidisciplinary background, Prof. Patti’s research addresses the challenges of energy transition, sustainable mobility, and the digital transformation of smart infrastructures. He acts as a key reference in bridging computer engineering, automation, and energy innovation.
