Description
Pixel detectors require very high-density processing electronics where low-power consumption is always at a premium. The power constraints become particularly severe in space-born applications. The research aims at developing novel, ultra-low power readout schemes optimized for future space missions that will employ silicon photon-multipliers, X-rays and charged particle detectors in their scientific payload. Both hybrid solutions, in which the sensors and its readout electronics are fabricated separately, and monolithic ones are explored.
