Biography
Pierre Alain Trévelo founded TVK with Antoine Viger-Kohler in Paris, in 2003. Strongly involved in teaching since their beginnings, Pierre Alain Trévelo, associate professor, is co-directing the post-master diploma of architect-urban designer and is chairman of the board of directors of the École d’Architecture de la Ville et des Territoires Paris-Est. He has been guest critic and lecturer at numerous schools of architecture and institutions in France and abroad. Through projects, research and writing, TVK has steadily produced a singular œuvre, at once theoretical and built. Following this dual approach, both essentialist and open, TVK engages in works that cover all scales - from furniture to territory, from a building to the planet. Their projects, both in France and internationally, illustrate this specificity. In addition, TVK continues its theoretical and written work. After two works on the Paris Ring Road, the agency led the Atelier des Places du Grand Paris and published the guide to the Places du Grand Paris. Recently, TVK was invited by Hashim Sarkis to present an installation at the Biennale di Venezia in 2021. It was accompanied by the eponymous book The Earth is an Architecture published by Spector Books in Spring 2021.
