Biography

After earning his Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino in 2005, Brischetto received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering (Politecnico di Torino) and in Constituants Elementaires (Université Paris Ouest–Nanterre La Défense) in 2009. At the DIMEAS of the Politecnico di Torino: from 2005 to 2010, he worked as Co.Co.Co, scholarship holder and research fellow; from 2010 to 2018, he was Assistant Professor; from 2018 to 2022, he was Associate Professor and he is currently Full Professor since 2022. Since 2013/2014, he was chair of several degree courses in Aerospace Engineering. Currently, he is chair of the courses “3D shell models for composite structures”, “Aeronautical Constructions” and “Numerical modeling and simulation techniques of aerospace structures”. Since 2014/2015, he is member of the Lecturer College for the PhD course in Aerospace Engineering, and he will be Lecturer College Coordinator for the years 2024-2027. His main research topics are: 3D and 2D analytical/numerical solutions for thermo-hygro-electro-magneto-elastic analyses of composite, sandwich and FGM plates and shells; additive manufacturing for aerospace applications and elements. Brischetto is the author of 188 articles, 89 of which have been published in international journals and 1 patent. He serves as a reviewer for more than 100 international journals. He is associate editor for “Journal of Composites Science” and “Curved and Layered Structures”. He is academic editor for “Technologies” and “Science and Engineering of Composite Materials”. He is editorial board member of further 2 international scientific journals. He is co-founder and co-chair of the research group “ASTRA: Additive manufacturing for Systems and sTRuctures in Aerospace”, which collaborates with various aeronautical/space companies and national and international universities; he is also founder and chair of the project “PoliDrone, A multipurpose modular drone produced via 3D printing".
