Biography

Piero Policastro is currently a Ph.D. student in Electrical, Electronic, and Communications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin.
His passion for natural processes led him to pursue a scientific education. He earned a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, with a focus on e-health and medical informatics. During his academic journey, he developed advanced skills in MATLAB and the Python programming language, particularly in signal analysis, artificial intelligence, and image processing. He obtained his master's degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2020.
In 2022, together with his team, he founded Viper.srl, a start-up that develops algorithms to solve medical problems, specifically for the analysis of ultrasound images of the inferior vena cava.
In recent years, he has collaborated with various research institutions, including the Department of Medical, Surgical, and Health Sciences at the University of Trieste, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, the University of Turin, the Tuscany Foundation Gabriele Monasterio in Pisa, and the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). These collaborations have allowed him to expand his skills and contribute to significant research projects.
