Mauro Martini is a Ph.D. student in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. He received from the Politecnico di Torino a Master’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering in 2020, with the thesis “Visual based local motion planner with Deep Reinforcement Learning”. He is now carrying out his research activity in collaboration with the Interdepartmental Centre for Service Robotics - PIC4SeR ( His research interests currently involve autonomous navigation in service robotics. A particular focus is devoted to the application of deep reinforcement learning techniques to robotic tasks, making use of both simulation tools and different robotic platforms.
