Biography

He was born on September 15, 1964. He received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 1989. He received his Ph.D. in Computer and Systems Engineerign from Politecnico di Torino in 1993. From March 1993 to May 1994 he was Visiting Scientist at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA. From May 1994 to June 1995 he was awarded a post-doc scholarship at the Dipartimento di Automatica e Informatica of Politecnico di Torino on the topic of the design of low-power systems. From July 1995 to September 2001 he was Assistant Professor of Computing Systems at Politecnico di Torino. From October 2001 to September 2004 he was Associate Professor of Computing Systems the Università di Verona. From October 2004 to September 2006 he was Associate Professor of Computing Systems at Politecnico di Torino. Since November 2006 he is Full Professor of Computing Systems at Politecnico di Torino. His research interests include the design automation of digital systems, with special emphasis on the design of low-power systems, the modeling and the simulation of systems-on-chip, and the automatic synthesis of digital systems. He coauthored more than 200 papers, including one book, book chapter, journal papers, and papers in the proceedings of international conferences. He is a Member of the ACM SIGDA Low-Power Technical Committee. He has served as reviewer for a number of journal and conferences of the IEEE and ACM, and served as member of Technical Program Committee of many international IEEE and ACM conferences. He has taught more than 50 courses on various subjects of the Computer Science. He is Associate Editor IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design f Integrated Circuits and Systems, for the term 2006-2009. He is an evaluator of IST projects for the European Commision, in the context of the II Call of the VI Framework Program (2003).
