Biography

After the doctoral studies related to debris flow modelling, her postdoctoral and fixed-term Assistant Professor research activity at Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) has focused on rockfall engineering. Recognizing the importance of creating a safe and resilient environment, increasing its adaptation capacity to climate-related hazards, her studies have been mainly devoted to hazard and risk analysis, and on the design of structural mitigation measures. She won the highly competitive European postdoctoral fellowship Marie Sklodowska-Curie (HORIZON-MSCA-2022-PF-01, https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/ 101103401) related to fragmentation processes in rockfall propagation and risk analyses in mountain and mining contexts. Although the project is based at POLITO, she is currently carrying her research activities at the Centre for Geotechnical Science and Engineering (CGSE) of the University of Newcastle, Australia, where she is hosted for half of the project.
