Biography

Guido Lombardi was born in Florence, Italy, in Dec 1974. He received the Laurea degree (summa cum laude) in tlc engineering from the University of Florence in 1999 and the Ph.D. degree in ECE from the Polytechnic of Turin in 2004, after serving as an Officer in the Italian Air Force. He joined the Polytechnic of Turin in 2004, where he is a EE Full Professor since 2022. He was also a Visiting Researcher at the University of Houston. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, including two Wiley/ISTE monographs. His interests include electromagnetics, HPC, diffraction, Wiener-Hopf methods, numerical integration, singularities, microwave components, metamaterials, DOA, and EMC. He served on the IEEE AP-S AdCom 2016–2021 and is IEEE AP-S VP for Operations and Finance since 2024. He is also IEEE and URSI Senior Member and has held major roles in IEEE AP-S and URSI symposia, Univ of Cambridge-INI Program, IEEE-APWC/ICEAA, ICCEM and in journals: IEEE TAP, IEEE Access, IEL Electron.Lett. He participated as PI in R&D int projects and industrial contracts, as reviewer of int projects.
