Biography

I’m Giuseppe Perrone, originally from Guagnano in the province of Lecce, and I’ve always had a passion for science and technology. I completed my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and then a master’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where I focused specifically on vehicle technology. This program combined knowledge in electronics, mechanics, electrical drives, automatic controls, and computer science, equipping me to tackle complex systems such as vehicular systems. My master’s thesis, Urban Crowd Estimation via WiFi Probe Analysis, allowed me to dive into using WiFi probe requests' data to estimate urban crowd density. Working on this project introduced me to machine learning and data management, sharpening my skills in data manipulation and programming.

Currently, my primary academic interests include generative AI, autonomous vehicles, and connectivity technologies. During my PhD in Computer and Systems Engineering, I aim to bring these areas together to develop solutions that enhance the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles.
