Research topics

Federico Carosio is an expert in chemistry and materials science focusing on polyelectrolytes and nanoparticles-based coatings. He is active in the design, research and development of novel approaches to coatings and bulk materials capable of providing innovative solutions within several industrial applications. Among these, particular focus is on coatings capable of conferring flame retardant and fire-resistant properties to different kinds of materials (textiles, polymeric foams, wood, etc.), sustainable structural materials (valorization of natural fibres and natural polymers) and flame-retarded materials (railway and marine transportation, buildings).
