Biography

Graduated in Biomedical Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin. Since November 2021, enrolled as a PhD student in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences at the Polytechnic of Turin. This PhD course represents an effective incubator aiming at developing, through interdisciplinary research and training, new professional figures able to develop avant-garde methodologies and technologies that answer to frontier problems of biomedical research, and to propose innovative solutions that have an impact on the healthcare reality and on the production system. Since my last years in high school, I have begun to be fascinated by the many possible applications of technology to medicine and health care. My studies at the University have strengthened my passion for the innovative sector of bionanotechnology. In particular, during my master degree thesis, I collaborated on the ERC BIORECAR Project directed by Prof. Valeria Chiono and aimed at developing a new approach for post-infarction cardiac regeneration. During this experience I learned the state of the art on cardiac regenerative medicine and how bionanotechnologies can improve this field. Being part of the BIORECAR team has further improved my teamwork skills, enabling me to collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team. After obtaining a post-graduate research scholarship, between February 2021 and November 2021, I was able to continue my experimental activity, collaborating with the Photopolymer research group at DiSAT (Department pf Applied Science and Technology, Polytechnic of Turin) on the development of electroconductive hydrogels for cardiac tissue engineering. This experience gave me the opportunity to learn how to manage experimental research activities myself, cooperating between different groups, and combining different skills to achieve the project objectives. Thanks to obtaining a position as a PhD student in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences, I’m having the opportunity to pursue my professional growth, continuing the experimental activity with BIORECAR team and working in the context of scientific research which I’m passionate about.
