Scientific branch
(Area 0004 - Earth Sciences)
Research topics
- WIND ENERGY: development of new wind farm parameterizations for meso- and large-scale numerical models to study the impacts of wind farms on the atmosphere. AIR POLLUTION: study of the relations between air pollution, climate change, and energy policy via meteorological models (e.g. WRF) coupled to photochemical models (e.g., CAMx or CMAQ) with accurate and up-to-date emission inventories. METEOROLOGY: improving weather forecasts via data assimilation or via a blend of numericla and statistical prediction, based also on machine learning techniques.
