Biography

Carmelo Carbone is currently a PhD student in 'Design and Technology. People, Systems, Environment' at Politecnico di Torino. Prior to this, he worked as a licensed architect and research fellow at Politecnico di Torino.
He holds a second-level Master's degree in 'Sustainability and Energy Management in Construction Works' from Politecnico di Milano. Additionally, he earned a Master's degree in 'Architecture for the Sustainability Design' and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Politecnico di Torino, during which he gained international experience at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Lyon.
Over the past five years, his research activities have focused on Sustainable Affordable Housing, Smart cities and urban innovation, Information and Communication Technology for urban regeneration, Life Cycle Assessment of buildings and Net-Positive building design.
