Biography

I earned a double degree in Environmental and Land Engineering (Climate Change) and Energy and Nuclear Engineering (Renewable Energy Systems) in 2024. I am currently a PhD candidate at Politecnico di Torino in the PhD programme in Urban and Regional Development (XLI cycle). My research lies at the intersection of geomatics, Earth Observation and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence. I am particularly interested in the use of satellite data for disaster management and rapid mapping.
In my doctoral research, I investigate the potential and limitations of Geospatial Foundation Models (GeoFMs) for the rapid production of geospatial information following disasters, particularly wildfires and floods.
Since 2024, I have conducted research at the Laboratory of Geomatics for Cultural Heritage (LABG4CH), collaborating with the Geomatics Group of the Department of Architecture and Design (PoliTO) on several research projects and 3D metric surveying activities, including international fieldwork. Alongside my research, I support teaching activities as a tutor for several university courses at Politecnico di Torino.
