Biography
Previously, she received a bachelor's and master's degree in Civil Engineering, from Politecnico di Torino, with specialization in infrastructures and transportation systems.
In her master she carried out an internship at GTT- Gruppo Torinese Trasporti, which manages the entire public transport network, urban and extra-urban, of the city of Turin.
This experience allowed her to perform a reliability study of an automatic passenger counting system (APC) installed on public transport fleet vehicles.
To delve into the topic of APC, in the development of her master's thesis, she investigated an innovative methodology for counting passengers on board public transport vehicles, which would allow for an improvement in the accuracy of measurements.
During her graduate studies, she became fascinated by the potential of the use of innovative technologies to improve the quality of urban mobility services and transportation infrastructure.
This fascination led her to candidate for a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Her doctoral research, focus on the use of micro-simulators to analyze traffic scenarios and to test traffic control strategies in urban areas, aimed at favouring the inclusion of transport services operated with automated shuttles.
Throughout her doctoral studies, she collaborates with LINKS (Leading Innovation & Knowledge for Society) Foundation of Turin, to analyse potential case studies.
Her studies aim to verify the potential of using autonomous vehicles in transport services to achieve safer, more efficient, sustainable and inclusive transport systems.
