Biography

I achieved my Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical and Food Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 2019 and subsequently continued my studies in Materials Engineering at the same institution. My Master's Thesis focused on the development of photocured hydrogels, made with natural polymers and enriched with bioactive glasses, for the treatment of skin diseases such as psoriasis. After graduating in 2021, I worked as a research fellow on the Best4Hy project, funded by the EU program Horizon 2020. My research focused on developing a sustainable process for recovering lanthanum and cobalt from end-of-life Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) cathodes and recycling them into the production of new cells. In November 2022, I joined the IRIS research group (Improving Regeneration by Intelligent Scaffold) as a Ph.D. student. My work, conducted within the Horizon Europe project REBORN, focuses on the development of a piezoelectric scaffold enriched with smart nanocarriers for the functional repair of infarcted myocardium.
