Biography

Giorgia Greco graduated with honors in Architecture from Politecnico di Torino in 2019, presenting the thesis "The Global City as Domestic Space: Living in Shitaya-ku and Mukodai-cho, Tokyo," which earned her the Architecture Thesis Award in 2020. Her research was enriched by a period as a visiting student at The University of Tokyo, where she conducted fieldwork. Starting from 2020, she served as co-Editor-in-Chief for a Swiss publishing house specializing in documentary videos focused on architecture and landscape, endorsed by the CNAPPC (Consiglio Nazionale degli Architetti, Pianificatori, Paesaggisti e Conservatori) and the American Institute of Architects. Her expertise in visual storytelling was further demonstrated through her collaboration with China Room (PoliTO), where she contributed as a motion graphic designer to major exhibitions such as "China Goes Urban" at the MAO (2020) and the Chinese Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2021). Giorgia has successfully participated in various international design competitions, including Europan14, Non-Architecture Competitions, and NexTo, achieving recognition through team-based projects. Additionally, she worked as architect and co-founded a Cultural Association dedicated to the promotion and exploration of cultural initiatives within the inland areas of Piedmont, Italy. Currently, Giorgia Greco is a Junior Fellow at China Room and a PhD scholar enrolled in the joint doctoral program "Architecture. History and Project" between Politecnico di Torino and Tsinghua University in Beijing, within the curriculum "Transnational Architectural Models in a Globalized World." Her ongoing research critically investigates interactions between humans and more-than-humans, exploring the role and potential agency of architecture within a post-anthropocentric framework.
