Biography

After completing her doctoral studies on debris flow modelling, her postdoctoral research and fixed-term Assistant Professor role at Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) focused on rockfall engineering. Recognising the importance of creating safe and resilient environments and enhancing adaptability to climate-related risks, her work has primarily addressed hazard and risk analysis and the design of structural mitigation measures. She was awarded the highly competitive European Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (HORIZON-MSCA-2022-PF-01, https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101103401) for research on fragmentation processes in rockfall propagation and risk analysis in mountain and mining contexts. The project is based at POLITO, but she spent 1.5 years conducting research at the Centre for Geotechnical Science and Engineering (CGSE), University of Newcastle, Australia, and is now in the process of returning to Italy to complete the project.
