Barbara Frigo is Associate Professor of Structural Mechanics at the Department of Structural, Building and Geotechnical Engineering of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. She received her Master degree in Environmental and Land Engineering and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. Dr. Frigo’s research interests include snow and ice mechanics, avalanche formation and release, snow stability evaluation, avalanche forecasting, interactions between snow flows and structures (damages and static and dynamic overloads, impact analysis and collapse mechanisms) with the aim to give indications for the design of buildings under mountain natural hazards.
