Research interests
Biography
Born in Torino, 1971 July 18th Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997, Masters in Safety Engineering and Risk Analysis in 1998 and PhD in Energetics in 2003, at the Politecnico di Torino. Assistant Professor in Energy and Environmental Systems at the Energy Department of Politecnico di Torino. His research fields are biomass-to-energy and waste-to-energy, CHP plants and district heating systems. He is scientific supervisor for numerous research projects and contracts funded by the Piedmont Region, local authorities and energy service companies. Lecturer at the degree course in Energy Engineering of the Polytechnic of Turin, in the courses of Fundamentals of Machines and CHP Plants. He is supervisor/tutor of numerous bachelor's, master's and PhD theses. From March 2018 to March 2024 Energy Manager and and Co-coordinator of the "Energy and Climate Change" area of the Green Team of the Politecnico di Torino, where he defined the planning and implementation of the short-term actions of the University's Decarbonization Plan. From January 2021 to July 2023 Coordinator of the CU3 Curriculum – "Technology and Territory" in the National Doctorate in Sustainable Development and Climate Change at IUSS Pavia.

From March 2018 to March 2024 Energy Manager and co-coordinator of the "Energy and Climate Change" area of the Green Team of the Politecnico di Torino. From Novembre 2016 to November 2022 Coordinator of the working group "Energy" in the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS). From January 2021 to July 2023 Curriculum CU3 – Technology and Territory in the National PhD in Sustainable Development and Climate Change, IUSS Pavia.
His main research fields concern energy and environmental planning, the decarbonization of urban and industrial energy systems, cogeneration plants and district heating systems, the energy use of biomass and waste. Author of scientific publications in journals and in international conferences. Principal investigator for european and regional research projects, and consulting and research contracts for local authorities, energy operators and industrial companies.
