Biography

I obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2022 and I am currently enrolled as a Ph.D. student in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences. My research activity is part of the BIORECAR project (www.biorecar.polito.it), focusing on the design of new advanced therapies, the optimization of injectable hydrogels and the development of nanoparticles for drug delivery in neuromuscular diseases.
During my Master's thesis, carried out within the BIORECAR project, I had the opportunity to strengthen my passion for bionanotechnology and the research field, gaining expertise in biomaterials characterization and processing techniques. In May 2022, I obtained a position as a postgraduate fellow in the POLHYGENTH project (PoC Instrument), where I worked on the surface functionalization of nanoparticles and their validation. In addition to enhancing my competences in nanomedicine and tissue engineering, this experience allowed me to improve my teamwork skills and learn how to manage and organize research activities involving multiple people. Working as a Ph.D student within the BIORECAR team is giving me the opportunity to continue my experience in the field, working in an optimal context for personal and professional growth.
In addition part of my activity is focused on applied research: recently we founded a spin-off company called PoliRNA (www.linkedin.com/company/polirna/), focused on the development of a nanodelivery system platform for RNA therapy.

The PhD scholarship is supported by European funding and Fondazione CRT.
