Biography

I received my master's degree in Computer Engineering in 2023 with the master thesis: "Development of a tool for the automated analysis and reporting of personal data transfers to non-EEA domains", focusing on the development of Privacy-oriented software.

My research group is the Software Engineering Research Group (Softeng Polito).

My research activity explores the possibilities offered by the application of Gamification to web and mobile application testing, with a specific focus on End-to-End testing. The term Gamification refers to the application of typical game design mechanics to other contexts and activities in order to increase the engagement and performance of the actors involved. The tools typically used are, for example, leaderboards, scores, personalization, competition, etc. Gamification has gained increasing interest in recent years, both in academic and non-academic settings. The idea of applying Gamification to software testing is particularly intuitive, considering that this activity is often forgot within the software development process, due to its repetitiveness. In particular, End-to-End testing methodologies, which aim to verify the functioning of a software from the end user's point of view, seem to be particularly suitable to the introduction game dynamics.
In conclusion, this research path intends to give back importance to End-to-End software testing, which is central within the set of Verification and Validation procedures, through the application of Gamification mechanics.
