Biography

After obtaining my scientific high school diploma, I enrolled at Politecnico di Torino, where I obtained both a Bachelor Degree and a Master Degree in Computer Engineering. I carried out my master thesis in the field of cybersecurity, with Prof. Antonio Lioy's TORSEC research group and I decided to continue my studies in this field with the PhD program. Under the supervision of prof. Antonio Lioy, I am working on the research topic "Zero-Trust Security of Network Nodes".
Zero-Trust Security (ZTS) is a new cybersecurity paradigm proposed for the protection of modern ICT infrastructures, which are characterized by the dissolution of traditional boundaries and for which traditional perimeter-based security solutions are no longer applicable. ZTS starts from the premise that trust in a computational node is never granted implicitly but must be continuously evaluated during its life time.
During the first two years of my PhD I worked in several EU-funded projects, each of them has aspects related to ZTS: designing and implementing a hardware-software architecture for the creation of a strong node identity and native support for integrity verification (SPIRS), monitoring the integrity status of an ICT infrastructure as part of the SECaaS approach (PALANTIR), protecting the entire supply chain of an IT service (FISHY), protecting the GNSS-time distribution network based in a 5G infrastructure. As part of the SPIRS project, I am task leader for the work on “Remote and Direct Anonymous Attestation procedures” and “Attestation Mechanisms”.
I am currently collaborating on the teaching activity for the "Cybersecurity" course of the Master Degree in Quantum Engineering, held by prof. Antonio Lioy.
