Responsabile scientifico: Arianna Astolfi
Tipo di progetto: Funded project awarded through a competitive call
Ruolo PoliTO: Project Coordinator
The extra-auditory effects of noise in schools, universities and hospitals, and the management of the risk of related injuries: the overall aim of this research is to implement the necessary precautions to prevent extra-auditory effects arising from exposure to noise in the workplace.
The aim is to build on the work already carried out in the INAIL BRiC 2019 ID 14, relating to the school context, by extending the scope of the investigation to other educational settings, such as universities, and more generally to other workplaces where acoustic quality is crucial, such as hospitals.
Outcome indicator
- Definition of tools and methods to address regulatory gaps concerning the prevention of non-auditory effects of occupational noise exposure.
- Completeness and representativeness of the evidence base relating to non-auditory harm.
- Development of tools for managing the risk of related accidents.
Deliverables
- Technical documentation describing the tools and methods for preventing extra-auditory effects, including practical guidelines derived from significant case studies
- Reports on the tests carried out and an analysis of the effectiveness of the proposed solutions
- Organisation of at least one event to disseminate the project results.
