Abstract
The project's starting point lies in the recognition that the environmental transition requires a more inclusive and practical framework. Mentorship programs often target individuals in higher roles within organisations, leaving a gap that Common Grounds aims to fill. The project seeks to provide employees, workers, and volunteers with tools to empower their capacity to lead sustainable transformations within buildings, organisations, communities, and cities. Our focus is on individuals operating in the socio-cultural field, an area where these processes often present significant challenges. Despite the small teams, composed of highly motivated professionals and volunteers carrying out various tasks, there is often a lack of resources for participating in mentorship programs to comprehend and implement the range of best practices and tools developed in recent years. Bottom-up participatory processes are crucial for developing practices that mitigate climate change. The more participatory the processes of developing practices and more inclusive the decision-making process are, the stronger the impact will be. A practice that is developed top-down and among a few managers will struggle to be perceived as recognizable and shared by people actively engaged in organisations who, instead, are seeking tools for collective action as active citizens.
