How to design and write a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship proposal
This webinar, organized by the Individual Grants for Research Career Office (RIMIN) and held in English by Lotte Jaspers of the Dutch consultancy Yellow Research, is planned over two mornings and it aims to prepare young researchers to become competitive candidates for the prestigious MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 grants.
Considering the fierce competition and complex evaluation system of the MSCA PF, writing a successful grant proposal is a true challenge, as having a good idea is simply not enough.
In this entirely online training, we will dig into how to present your project idea and how to demonstrate that you are the best Researcher for the project. In particular the workshop will illustrate:
- an overview of the main aspects related to MSCA PF 2024 proposal writing;
- an understanding of the complex evaluation criteria, how to assess it and what are quite often the so-called “hidden criteria” like career mobility and novelty of the idea;
- how to “build” a competitive CV, presenting capacity and expertise to execute the project successfully;
- methodological tools, such as the Logical Framework and the Logic Tree for grant writing.
After the webinar, participants will have access to a study platform that will allow for individual study and where the slides and recording of the webinar will be provided together with some explanatory videos and support materials.

THE TRAINER - Lotte Jaspers
For the past 30 years, Lotte has gained broad practical experience in the issues of technology transfer and obtaining EU grants in particular for ERC and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
In her work for the Dutch government and the Dutch University Association, Lotte Jaspers gained extensive experience in the legal and financial (full-cost systems) aspects of EU FP agreements. She has been involved in developing strategies to improve Rules for Participation, the EU Grant Agreement and the several Consortium Agreements (FP5, FP6 and the DESCA in FP7). In successive framework programmes she worked as an expert in several committees and working groups of the European Commission.
