The Third Pillar - Innovative Europe: the European Innovation Council Pathfinder

Horizon Europe is the next European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for the 2021-2027 period.

The programme, with a view to evolving from the current Horizon 2020, aims to: strengthen the scientific and technological bases of the EU and the European Research Area, improve the innovative capacity, the competitiveness of the European industrial system and generate employment in Europe.

Pillar III, the pillar dedicated to "Innovative Europe", will include the European Innovation Council (EIC), the European Innovation Ecosystems and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

After a short overview on Pillar III, the webinar, held in Italian by a lecturer from the European Research Promotion Agency (APRE), will focus on the EIC, with particular reference to the EIC Pathfinder scheme, explaining its genesis, its main directions in terms of research-driven disruptive innovation and highlighting the main opportunities for researchers.

The lecturer is Marta Calderaro, National Contact Point for the topics "Information and Communication Technologies" and "Future and Emerging Technologies".

Ms. Marta Calderaro bio
After a degree in Political Science, in 2012 she obtained a master's degree in European Planning and Internationalisation of Enterprises at the Italian Society for International Organisation (SIOI), expanding her knowledge and skills in the field of European project management. Since January 2013 she has been working for APRE, following international cooperation projects in the field of Information and Communication Technologies and cooperation between National Contact Points. She is currently the National Contact Point (NCP) for the topics "Information and Communication Technologies" and "Future and Emerging Technologies". As a trainer, Marta Calderaro has held several courses on Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, with particular focus on the H2020 FET - EIC Pathfinder programme and the H2020 ICT programme.
