Unite! meets its international students at the Politecnico
On 29 May, the second edition of the “Let's Unite! Meet & Greet”, a peer-to-peer meeting organised by Unite! as part of Community 5, and carried out by the working group coordinated by PoliTO and ULisboa.
The initiative involved students who will leave next year for a mobility in one of the Unite! locations, giving them the opportunity to interact with those who come from these universities and are currently at the Politecnico, as well as with those who have already been on mobility within the Alliance. The event was organised by the International Mobility Office of the Politecnico with the collaboration of the student network Unite! (SURE) and the Turin section of the ESN Erasmus Student Network.
The afternoon consisted of an initial informative session in which the new “Student Catalogue” platform was presented, which contains the numerous projects proposed within the Alliance (such as the Erasmus+ BIPs), and the possibility of accessing the Unite! Seed Fund Initiative. Afterwards, ESN volunteers provided useful information on the activities of the association for Erasmus students. The second part was dedicated to networking and socializing, this was facilitated by an icebreaker activity organised by ESN.
Student participation was high, with around 50 representatives from all Alliance partner universities.
The enthusiasm and participation shown by all involved testifies to the fact that the issues of internationalisation and mobility are particularly felt within the student community. The interaction between incoming and outgoing students was a key activity, with the aim of facilitating, for those going abroad, orientation and integration into the new university environment, establishing contacts that will have positive effects on the future all-round Erasmus experience.
