A delegation from the city of Nagoya (Japan) visited PoliTO on Thursday, December 11. The initiative, organized by the City of Turin, is part of the program of celebrations for the twentieth anniversary of the twinning between the Japanese city and Turin.

The delegation was led by the mayor of Nagoya, Ichiro Hirosawa, accompanied by several representatives of the city administration and the president of the City Council, Hisashi Nishikawa, together with other members of the Council.

The guests were welcomed by PoliTO Deputy Rector Elena Maria Baralis, who presented the University and its educational offerings, the Vice Rector for International Affairs Alberto Sapora, and the Director of PoliTO Japan Hub Giuseppe Quaglia, who illustrated the activities of the Japan Hub.

The delegation expressed keen interest in PoliTO international initiatives, emphasizing the importance of strengthening student mobility between Italy and Japan.

The visit continued with a tour of the campus, led by Matteo Tempestini, a member of PoliTO Masterplan group. During the meeting, the delegation also had the opportunity to meet two students from Nagoya City University, Masahiro Watanabe and Hazuki Kutsuna, currently studying at the Politecnico, who shared their experiences.

“The visit by the Nagoya delegation highlighted the deep bond between our two cities and was an opportunity to share visions for the future,” said Deputy Rector Elena Maria Baralis. "Through the Japan Hub initiative, PoliTO is the first university to open an office in Japan, aimed at building a bridge between the two cultures. Student mobility, which was discussed during the meeting with the delegation, will be a primary objective in the coming years and will contribute to creating strong and lasting relationships."
