Call for Papers | Sensor-Based Systems for Environmental Monitoring and Assessment

We report the opening of the Call for Papers for the Special Issue "Sensor-Based Systems for Environmental Monitoring and Assessment", published in the journal "MDPI Sensors".

Guest Editors include professor Bartolomeo Montrucchio and researchers Jacopo Sini and Antonio Costantino Marceddu from the Department of Automation and Computer Engineering-DAUIN of Politecnico.

The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2025.

Description:
This Special Issue focuses on techniques that allow information to be obtained about the environment and the living beings immersed in it in order to assess their status and, where necessary, take measures to improve it. The use of sensors with secure networks and protocols is essential for obtaining and transferring this type of data for storage and analysis. This analysis can be performed manually by humans, using graphs and screens, or automatically by systems using artificial intelligence or ad hoc algorithms, which are ultimately executed at the edge or, in general, are suitable for the concept of computational continuum, which is addressed, among others, by projects funded by the European Commission KDT JU and Chips JU.

Topics:
Possible topics for this Special Issue include, but are not limited to:
  • Biomedical monitoring
  • Edge-AI computing
  • Embedded systems
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Signal processing
