Politecnico di Torino lights up in orange | Against gender-based violence
Orange is the color symbolizing a future free from gender-based violence, and for an entire week, from November 25 to December 1 2024, Politecnico di Torino will light up in orange.
This gesture marks its participation in the Orange the World campaign, promoted by the United Nations to combat gender-based violence and supported in Italy by UN Women Italy.
The University has launched several initiatives for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. On this significant date, a beacon of hope will shine brightly, as the University projects its logo in orange on the facade of its main building. This initiative highlights Politecnico di Torino’s commitment to raising awareness and promoting concrete actions to prevent and address gender-based violence.
On the same day, the Politecnico will also distribute informational materials provided by UN Women Italy, the National Committee supporting UN Women in Italy. The committee advocates for the acceleration of gender equality in line with the UN 2030 Agenda and fosters initiatives that contribute to sustainable development, social cohesion, and the reduction of inequalities through a network of institutional and non-institutional partners.
With this initiative, Politecnico di Torino reaffirms its dedication to building a more equitable and inclusive society, joining a global network of institutions and citizens united by a shared goal: a world free from violence.
